Jesus Christ found Steve while he was serving in the US Army in Berlin, West Germany, in 1983, in a life-changing encounter convinced him of the reality of God’s love for him. Throughout his life, Steve has taken the opportunity to serve his local community and church in various capacities including Greeter, Usher/Porter, Teacher/Preacher and Pastor, Little League Coach, Mentor to young men, and Foster Parent.
One of Steve's favorite life verses is Heb 3:13 “Encourage One another Daily, while it is called Today”. Steve believes his primary Mission as a follower of Christ is to encourage others in their walk with the LORD.
Steve carries the heart and anointing of a shepherd. He Steve is a licensed minister. serves at Shiloh Church in Oakland, CA. He is active in the Men's Prayer Ministry and coordinates Guest Services ministry, where he and Lesia lead teams that make Shiloh a warm and loving place to ensure all who attend services experience the presence and love of God from the parking lot to the sanctuary.
Steve is happily married to his one and only, Lesia. They have been married 39 years, have three wonderful children, and four marvelous grandchildren. He is a 24-year Army veteran. Steve and Lesia have been in relationship with John and Sherry Poundstone for more than 15 years and love Joy! Church. Steve says, “I am honored to serve the Joy! Church family as a board member, or in any capacity that will encourage Joy! Church to move forward in its role in the Kingdom of God.”
Diane lives in Reno and is originally from Canada. Diane loves Jesus and has served in many ministry leadership roles, including the FOCUS ministry team alongside Sherry. Diane has been a strong prophetic voice in the lives of John and Sherry for the past ten years. Diane Buice speaks at JOY! Church often.
Larry Titus has been in full time ministry for 55 years. In 2001, he completed 34 years of influential innovative pastoral ministry in the states of Washington, Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio, to devote himself to the mission of Kingdom Global Ministries, an organization he founded in 1992.
For decades Larry Titus has trained thousands of men and women to be effective in every facet of their lives, marriages, and ministries. Larry has equipped leaders that span dozens of nations. His commitment to global missions has also resulted in thousands of churches, schools, orphanages, and Bible schools being established and sustained on every continent.
Larry is the author of The Teleios Man—Your ultimate identity, a complete curriculum for men's ministry that provides discipleship in 12 areas of a man's life. Larry and Devi coauthored the book When Leaders Live Together—How two strong personalities can thrive in marriage.
Larry speaks in multi-denominational and ethnic environments of churches, conferences, and men’s retreats. He is founder of two major gatherings: The Teleios Men's Summit, a relational gathering of men to edify them with biblical truth and testimonies in an atmosphere of intense worship, and the biannual KGM World Connect, which brings global leaders and kingdom minded individuals together for the purpose of networking and resourcing their visions. Larry and Devi Titus have been married 54 years. The Tituses and Poundstone have been in relationship for more than 10 years. Larry has spoken at our church, and commissioned John as Senior Leader, September 23rd of 2018.
God has allowed Sherry to touch the lives of hundreds of women through conference speaking, teaching bible studies, writing, and mentoring. The core of her ministry is that true freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ.
Sherry is an ordained minister and the founder of Sherry Poundstone Ministries. She is the author of two bible studies, Becoming a Woman of Character and Becoming a Woman of Power with God. She is the host of the Coffee and the Word with Sherry.
In addition, Sherry is the director of Build Your Speaking Platform, a professional speaker training for Christian Women.
Above all else, Sherry’s most valued role is that of wife to her husband John.
She currently serves alongside John, and as the Women’s Ministry Director for JOY! Church.

John Poundstone and his wife, Sherry, have lived in the region since 1996. John brings a rich background of experience and executive leadership both in the church arena and beyond it. He has pursued full-time ministry since 2010.
John currently serves as Senior Leader of Joy! Church in Fernley. He is also the Executive Director of the Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Midtown Reno and Fernley, as well as the Real Choices Center in South Reno.
John and Sherry co-founded Bethesda Reno-Tahoe, a parachurch organization that supports various local Kingdom oriented enterprises throughout Northern Nevada and the Eastern Sierra.
John also serves on the Boards of Directors for Kingdom Global Ministries, a Dallas, Texas, based missions and development organization serving leaders of several thousand churches, ministries and businesses across forty nations on six continents.
John brings to the table a rich background and deep love for scripture. You can depend on him to teach and impart the Bible, and the ways of the Kingdom of God, in fresh and tailored ways. He brings lively and provocative thinking, wisdom and passion to all he does.
